The theme for CISMA2023 having been determined

CISMA2021, having been held in July 2022, has demonstrated the most advanced sewing technologies and a wide range of sewing products. It has received an avalanche of approvals from professional visitors, and certainly reflected the development trend of the sewing machinery sector in the coming years.

During the recently-held CISMA2021, lots of intelligent and automated sewing technologies, particularly automatic adjustment of stitch distance, presser foot pressure, thread tension and material thickness sensing, have grabbed the limelight. Equipped with more than one motors, these products can be programmed to switch stitch distances based on particular needs, and are capable of automatic thread-cutting, lifting the presser foot, loosening threads, which makes possible intelligent control of sewing processes.

Besides, many key players in the sector have showcased cloud platform and intelligent factory management system, which is integrated with a new generation of digitally-controlled system/data collection device, intelligent data processing display at each cubicle, industrial IoT, RFID swiping module, manufacturing execution system for sewing, intelligent sewing equipment, intelligent logistics, order placement management module, procurement management module, storage and material management, accounting and salaries management, personnel management, and so on, all of which will enable automated manufacturing, systemized processes, and digitalized production information.

As a global manufacturing base of sewing equipment, China’s products are bound to spread all over the world. Since 2019, China’s export of sewing equipment has surpassed domestic sales. Regarding down-stream sectors globally, factors like higher labor costs, customized flexible production, consistency of product quality, quality tracking, environment conservation, emission reduction and energy-saving all require sewing equipment to be more intelligent, especially to realize efficient, refined and environment-friendly production through designing, controlling, following, adjusting and feeding back on elaborated workflow management.

Either conventional industries like apparel, footwear and headgear, cases and bags, leather, feather and down, home textiles, or emerging applications to industrial textiles, medical and health care, aerospace, especially biotech and functional product, have all put forward unprecedented demands for intelligent equipment and digital solutions. These soft and hard equipment will definitely be the edges to enhance core competitiveness in the coming years. Against such a backdrop, the sewing equipment will become more and more intelligent and digitalized.
